The Comfort Woman

Short Film

The Comfort Woman is a short film based on the theatre production of the same name, written and performed by Minjeong Kim. It tells the story of Minja, a young Korean girl who is deceived and taken captive during World War II by the Japanese army, forced into servitude as a “comfort woman.” Her story represents one of thousands of untold experiences.

Blending live action and animation, the film contrasts the innocence and imagination of childhood with the devastating realities of war and violence against women.

Filming is complete, and we’re now seeking Executive Producers and supporters to help us in the final stages to bring this powerful story to completion.

CANDY

Theatre Production

 The White Bear Theatre: 3 - 14 June 2025

Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Bedlam Theatre: 12 - 17th August 2025

An Offies Assessor's Choice listing, Candy tells the semi-autobiographical story of Candy and Dan. During a 1980s Sydney summer, their love blossoms quickly, and in their desire to share everything, Candy tries heroin. This marks the beginning of their descent. Candy, based on Luke Davies' (Academy Award nominee) novel, was first brought to international attention in the 2006 film starring Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish.

The show blends physical theatre with stark, narrative realism. Praised by Gawn Grainger as 'exhilarating, evocative and utterly unmissable theatre', Candy received a five-star review from VoiceMag.uk.
